fiyero HERO NOT THE HANDSOME ACTOR WHO PLAY'S A HERO'S ROLE, HERO NOT THE GLAMOUR GIRL WHO'D LOVE TO SELL HER SOUL Fiyero is a sea boy; there is no way to deny it, no evidence pointing in any other direction. He has been carved and beaten and sculpted by the endless over-turning of the tides, has traipsed through three years with the ocean still crashing in the cage of his chest, still walks with a sway that mimicks the waves and never goes a day without watching sunset over saltwater. The coastline draws him and its jagged edges match the lines of Yero's form, as if he has taken the shape of the waterline over weeks and months and years; his hair is gritty with salt, tangled and damp as it slaps against the muscle of his arched neck.
He has grown into himself as the stones grow weathered down into sand - by pressure of the world around him. Sinew whittles ups and downs into the brawn of his body, his shoulders becoming broad and golden skin thickening over his newly husky stature (save for a few sars here and there, a faded gray cicatrix stretching over the cross on his shoulder). But Fiyero has not lost his attitude, his gravity, his confidence, nor his need for Ixion; and it has been months if not a year since their last meeting, and only the endmost traces of his starry-eyed boy are still swirling in the bay dun's bloodstream.
He inhales, broad chest rising with salty sea air, a slow burn creeping into the hitch of his lungs.
He must be imagining the scent that comes with it.
Maybe Ixion was never his.

“I was within and without. Simultaneously enchanted and repelled by the inexhaustible variety of life”
x He wasn't sure what bliss was - but Ixion was fairly sure he had once owned it, once been a part of it. He didn't even know now whether he had it or not - and if he wasn't sure, didn't that mean he mustn't have it? He hadn't seen Fiyero in a little while… and for a love like theirs, a little while seemed to be an awfully long time… enough time, say, for him to have found pleasure in someone else's bed. There was no factual evidence behind such thoughts, and Ixion certainly was not the kind of man to jump to conclusions.. but he'd heard the whispers around the paths he walked. He would believe Fiyero's word above all, but he could not find the man that made his skin crawl with desire… and there was a particular lack of similarity between the two men that neither had discussed for the whole two (three?) years they had been together. Ixion believed in true love - did Fiyero? It burdened him, this question, and so Ixion had lifted his delicate head and stepped forth from the Island he spent most of his time upon to find the Mainland that both intrigued and frightened him.
He didn't often step away from the gentle Koi swirling amongst their pools, yet today he had found no peace in their myriad of colours, only frustration. The roll of gentle summer waves against this seaweed strewn beach was engaging enough for him to find pleasure in the warmth of the sun on his deep mahogany back for a short while, and yet he wanted to keep moving - the itch in his feet and the thorns in his woozy heart causing too much discomfort to stay still. Ixion stepped lightly despite his troubled head, feeling his tall mahogany legs step with the strength that had slowly built within his shoulders. He was a child still, in so many ways. He didn't understand the sway of sadness he felt when realizing where he was - where they'd first met. He did, however, recognize the uneven thud of his heart when he saw the other man standing there.
Fiyero.
Ixion shrunk backward, copper eyes cast to the earth instead of where they wanted to be - Fiyero's eyes, face, body, skin. Silence reigned suddenly, as if the earth had become mute, only the gentle, constant thudding of his melancholy heart remaining.

fiyero HERO NOT THE HANDSOME ACTOR WHO PLAYS A HERO'S ROLE, HERO NOT THE GLAMOUR GIRL WHO'D LOVE TO SELL HER SOUL Yero has always had a sixth sense for love; he is all-consumed by his flings and his romances and his forevers, even if it is a different breed of love than most people are used to. He is a romantic, he yearns for a happy ending just as any other mere mortal on this earth - but his love is not sweet and pure, he craves Ixion with ardor that is more like blisters and bruises and bites like a Doberman. Ixion is his, undoubtedly, will never cease to be even as long as they have been apart - and he sparks the boy's sixth sense, an intuition that tingles suddenly in the pit of his chest, though Yero cannot yet see the boy of his dreams. Breath hitching in the curve of his tender throat, the deep brown of Fiyero's eyes darts across the scenery around him; it is beautiful, sure, but nothing he hasn't seen before. The rock is still as dark and ridged as he remembers, the rainbow-hued fish are still swimming in their endless circles, the foliage sweeping and swaying in the embrace of a tropical breeze from off-coast. There is a pang deep in his broad chest, whether from the presence of someone unnoticed or the nostalgia that is washing over him as the tides do on his beach. There is the rolling of stone, the burble of a pond, a twig cracking, something happens that sets Yero's eyes to smoldering - and his gaze snaps sideways, sable lashes fluttering in confusion when the lines and curves of that body register - Ixion. The breath is punched from Yero's broad chest, surprise settling in the recesses of his mind - his throat closes, and his muscles coil as he takes a fluid step closer. Something burns and writhes in the space under his skin, heat rising to the rough bay fur that stretches over his mortal form; his lips form some soundless cry that manifests in a smile before, finally, a sound ripples from the depths of his chest. Ixion? SHIN OF GS + ADOX

“I was within and without. Simultaneously enchanted and repelled by the inexhaustible variety of life”
x Nerves struck him like lightning, paralyzing him in some strange mix of fright and longing. He could smell salt and roughness, could feel that heat that emanated both from himself and from Yero when they were close. Yet he could not move. Could not move because he was frightened and ecstatic and overjoyed all at once - for he had missed his dearest Fiyero more than the sun missed the stars, more than the wolf howled for the moon and even so, he felt guilty, and scared of what truths might reveal themselves from Fiyero's gorgeous, dusty lips. He cowered for moments that felt like years, and then slowly unfurled his long, slender legs - walking with eternal grace into Fiyero's eyeline. His eyes were somewhat fierce, or at least, they matched his lovers' with a solidity that he'd not possessed before (was he growing brave? or was it just Yero's vast effect on him?). He could not speak, though he wanted to utter that delectable name over and over and over, wanted to rush to his salty chest and rub the sorrow off of himself. And then, finally, whilst his copper stare remained, his soft velveteen lips curved ever so slightly upward. He felt... whole. Still nervous, still guilty, still worried - but with the presence of Fiyero overpowering all of that and giving him some sort of profound peace. "Where've you been?" It is not an accusation, although his heart aches like it should have been one. Ixion wants him to know he should never have left. RED&BLACK !

fiyero HERO NOT THE HANDSOME ACTOR WHO PLAY'S A HERO'S ROLE, HERO NOT THE GLAMOUR GIRL WHO'D LOVE TO SELL HER SOUL Fiyero could never have predicted the strength with which Ixion's silver-haired, soft-tongued presence hit him - but could liken it to something like drowning, or perhaps drowning in reverse. Like after years of living-drinking-breathing ocean blue and salty skies, Drover's son has come back to him with a force enough to punch every drop of water from his lungs, and fill his chest instead with swirls of cosmos. Ixion was infuriatingly ethereal, a god that Yero can never liken himself to, only make his sacrifices for.
He swallows hard, against the bile rising in his throat, the dry, rolling tides of anxiety that gather in the back of the cage of his mouth; Fiyero is confident, of course he is, he's never been insecure a day in his life, but he is heaving for breath, to feel something beyond the nausea and the guilt and the ecstasy. His breaths are soft and ragged and Ixion's scent is hard to handle after grappling with months in unwavering solitude, but he drinks it in and breathes it hard with a gratitude to bold to be described in words.
Just walk. Yero does not know if he is talking to Ixion or himself, only that he locking heavy eyes with a boy who has been so far away for so long that, in Fiyero's mind, he was beginning to fade. Not the idea of him. A dark, tall figure, waves of silver hair, warm eyes - none of this abstract adoration will dim with time, he knows and prays for with a rising desperation - but he has started to lose the planes of Ixion's face. The angle of his jaw, the subtle curve of those dusky lips, the simple and harrowing weight of his eyes, like stars that burn too bright to look at. When the length of Ixion's legs twist, writhe, pivot toward him, Yero fights the urge to simply stop breathing, and forces salty air into the cage of his lungs, with determination he has never known.
Away, he replies softly. Yero's gaze flickers upward, through a blanket of sable lashes that curl and brush against his rough skin with each blink - a most strangely dulcet kind of guilt worming its way into his rolling voice. Ixion's aura is sinking into his hide, into the salt-worn creases of his form and each curve and swoop carved out of new muscle. Charlie's son grinds his teeth, something sour building and hitching in the curve of his throat - then straightens, holding Ixion's gaze as steadily as he can. You...disappeared.
